Gaillardia, Blanket Flower
A very popular perennial plant, no doubt due to its ease of culture, showy flowers and all summer flower display. An excellent choice for hot, dry situations. Plants form tight clumps of loped, hairy foiage from which daisy-like blooms emerge on wiry stems. Flowers are produced continuously even without deadheading and seedheads are interesting. Avoid overly rich soil, good drainage is essential.
